I'm doing a report for school and need to know what the labor costs would be. No disposal or ballast change costs. Just 2000 fluorescent T-8 tubes in an office building with regular 9-12 foot ceilings.How much will a contractor charge to change 2000 fluorescent tubes in a building, wo ballast or disposal costs
In my opinion a guy with a step ladder will replace about 15 an hour (assuming reasonable access) = (say) 135 man hours.



Depending on your country you will need to multiply by a labour rate ... in the UK I would allow an all-in rate of around 拢20 per hour (maybe $30 in US as a currency conversion but labour rates may be lower).



Equates to 拢2700 in labour although it depends on whether you are working in premium time etc. I would also allow 拢500 for set-up etc ... overall likely to get costs of c拢3500 LABOUR only.



Be aware that whether or not job is competitively tendered will also affect the costs.
