Have a 1985 Dodge D-100 with 318 and 4 pin ECU. Is 7 volts at + coil post enough to run engine?

With engine not running but switch in run position I have 12 volts at ECU harness 1,2 and correct resistance at distributor pickup and the unit is grounded. With harness attached I have 7 volts at coil positive connection. Disconnecting the single distributor pickup, the starter relay, and the HV coil wire changes nothing. Ballast resistor checks good. No grounded or open wires detected. So, how much voltage is required for operation?Have a 1985 Dodge D-100 with 318 and 4 pin ECU. Is 7 volts at + coil post enough to run engine?
There is a ballast resistor installed that has 2 sections, a start and run. It starts on 12 and runs on 6.Have a 1985 Dodge D-100 with 318 and 4 pin ECU. Is 7 volts at + coil post enough to run engine?
you have a weak coil. try replacing it. 7 volts is not enough.
